I disagree with some of the bits from webdosanddonts.com. They seem to say things so absolutely, yet disregard some points where DON’T can become a DO in the hands of someone who knows what they’re doing. It may be a good resource for beginners, I suppose.

I hope Mark and I conveyed that in our discussion of them. While I try not to think of anything as an iron clad absolute guide, sometimes you need to set those boundaries for new people so that later they can figure out when it’s okay to break them!

New rule for everyone else: DON’T just take anything you read as true until you’ve tried it or know enough about why it’s a rule. Even then, question yourself often.
